Vesk
The best cat burglar in the city
A thief who never gets seen. Fast, quiet, and good with locks.
A tabletop roleplaying game
You play people who are good at what they do. Each round the GM puts every threat’s dice on the table: what it’s doing, who it’s aimed at and how hard. Your sheet’s already done the counting, so you spend the round choosing what to answer and what to let ride.
The brute
He swings his club at Isolde.
Wren puts an arrow in his arm and Bram gets his hammer under the club.
Fight 5 and Fight 4 make 9 steps from two actions: a d12 and a d6.
Stopped. It never lands.
A threat telegraphs with its Challenge die, and the GM never hides its size or its target. You’re never going to answer everything, so every round’s a choice.
Your sheet does the counting before you play. If a line’s on your set action and it fits, it’s free, and anything else that fits costs 1 Aura.
The rules don’t come with a world attached. Build your own, or start from one of the frames in the book.
Coming next: your character on your phone, with the counting done and every roll a tap away.
A set action’s steps are 1 for the action and 1 for every line on it. Then turn your steps into dice: 1 step is a d2, 2 steps a d4, and so on up to a d12 at 6.
Vesk’s Sneak is her first Title, move unseen and Silent Step, plus the action. That’s 4 steps, a d8.
Pick one and play tonight. Take one as written, or copy one and change anything you like.
The best cat burglar in the city
A thief who never gets seen. Fast, quiet, and good with locks.
The voice that talked a duke out of his own house
The face of the crew. Gets you through doors you can’t pick.
The wall that held the harbour gate
The muscle. Stands in front of the crew and doesn’t move.
The last student of a dead order
The scholar. Reads the old books and works the rituals nobody else will touch.
The hunter who has never lost a trail
The scout. Sees them first, and hits them from further away than they thought possible.
The last fire-speaker of the Ember Court
The fire mage. One kind of magic, and very, very good at it.
Every chapter’s here, and it’s the master copy, so it’s always the current rules. Last updated 16 October 2026.
